A Bit About Us

Patrick Fitzgibbons, Founder & co-Owner: Patrick's a local boy. Having done his stints at Steakburger Miniature Golf, Oasis Pizza and getting an Art Degree, he found his mechanical abilities transferred well to tinkering with early VW bugs and vintage Vespas. When he ran out of room in his Southeast home's garage, he decided to go legit and conspired with an enthusuastic pair of medically-trained partners to open Ptown Scooters' 1st doors in Industrial NW Portland under the Fremont Bridge.

Patrick is also an active member of the Twist N' Play Scooter Club having served in an official capacity as Treasurer. Today's club duties are more of an ambassadorial kind and you can often find him enjoying the company of Portland's out of town visitors during rally season.

Jim Smith, co-Owner: Grew up on Long Island in New York. 1st ride was a 1982 Piaggio Si 49cc moped purchased for $425 new, which was traded-off 5 years ago to a guy in Connecticut to plow the snow from my parent's home one season. It had previously been thoroughly thrashed by my younger brother while I was away at college in Ohio.

Moved to Portland in 1990. Day job is in construction management on large, public works projects. Former co-owner & President of "The Habit", an early 90's cybercafe which was originally located at SE 21st & Clinton and later at SE 39th & Hawthorne, and also a 2nd cafe inside Powell's Technical Books.

Active member of the Moto Guzzi National Owner's Club of Oregon (webmaster) and former Public Relations Officer of the Oregon Scooter Club. Captain of "Team Eurotrash" in the Portland Adult Soap Box Derby. Missed the friggin' deadline this year...Look for us in 2007!

Current rides and projects include: 2000 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport 1064cc, 1987 Yamaha Virago 535cc, 2001 Har-Lee 5hp, 1954 Moto Guzzi Zigolo 98cc, 1952 Moto Guzzi Galleto 160cc, 1962 Sparta GG 50cc moped, 1956 Cushman Eagle 8hp "Husky" engine.
