The best way to contact us is via email. We check emails several times a day. We can give you more information within email responses because we can take time to look things up to answer your questions.
It is often very noisy in the shop which can make it hard to conduct a conversation over the phone. If we do not answer the phone, please leave a message with your name, number, and a brief description of the nature of your call and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Repair Policy
We work on vintage Vespa and Lambretta scooters, two-stroke Stellas, many makes of vintage mopeds and the new Tomos mopeds. Due to liability issues we cannot do any repairs to: mobility scooters, mini bikes, electric bikes, home-built motorized bicycles, cheap Chinese plastic scooters, gopeds, gokarts, etc. (no matter how minor) and cannot sell parts to you to repair these yourself. As a rule if it is not meant to be licensed for street use we probably won’t work on it.
Rates
Hourly rates:
- $60.00 (sixty dollars) per hour for moped service
- $68.00 (sixty eight dollars) per hour for vintage and shifting scooters (Vespa, Lambretta, Stella)
Work is taken in on a first come first serve basis. We do not make appointments.
Please remember that these are specialty vehicles which require a certain expertise and patience to work on. Turnaround time can vary based on the condition the vehicle arrives in, and parts availability. We will make our best effort to communicate with you on the status of you repair. Our goal is to have you in and out of the shop as soon as possible and back on the road.
Payment Policy
Payment for shop services is due at time of notification of invoicing. We accept cash and credit cards with proper I.D. We do not accept checks.
As a courtesy, we provide a grace period of 10 (ten) days upon completion of work and notification that your vehicle is ready for pickup. Following the expiration of the 10 (ten) day grace period, storage fees will be assessed at a rate of $10.00 per day.
Should a customer not take action on their invoice for 90 (ninety) days, the customer forfeits all rights (mechanic's lien) to their vehicle; the vehicle and all parts will become the property of Ptown Scooters.
Stock
Our in-store stock includes:
- Two stroke motor oil (Motul, Bel-Ray, Golden Spectro)
- Tires and tubes (Heidenau Continental, Sava)
- Headlamp, marker & brake light bulbs
- Sparkplugs (exclusively NGK)
- Basic engine rebuild parts
- Chrome racks, trim, mirrors
- Grips and rubber trim
- Helmets
Consignment
As an authorized and insured motor vehicle dealership in the state of Oregon, we are pleased to offer to our customers in-store consignment of your scooter or moped. To be considered for consignment your bike will need to be in good repair, pass a safety inspection, and have a valid title. Please contact us for more information.
Special Orders
We have worked hard to build relationships with many overseas vendors, and we regularly place special orders for ourselves and our customers. Pooling these orders allows us to save money on overseas shipping. Contact us to see if we can save you some time and money. Special order items will need to be paid in advance and are non–refundable. We do not warranty any item installed by the customer.
